Know How Base

Experts in analog and digital signal processing. Handling high data rate and wide bandwidth signals at capture, transmission, display and storage.

To specifiy, implement and market products fulfilling tasks in such environments, we use high performance but also cost effective semiconductor devices and related technologies.

In the field of high speed digital signal processing we work with FPGA devices from Altera and Lattice. Both vendors offer leading products for all classes of complexity and speed. We use available features such as embedded soft and hard processors, interface hard IPs and gigabit transceivers in our products. Upcomig product lines will use latest SoC (system on chip) FPGAs with high performance multi core hard processors to allow well balanced hardware/software codesigns. In addiiton to this, we also use dedicated DSP and multimedia processors to enhance overall feature sets and processing power. One of the latest advances is our USB3 based uncompressed full HD video streaming technology.

In the analog domain we design circuits for wide bandwidth signal conditioning, physical media interfacing and A/D as well as D/A conversion.

Depending on the application, our products are built very compact and space saving. For such requirements very well mixed signal PCB designs are required. PCB design for this purposes is also one of our core competences.

VICOS - Visual Communication Systems GmbH was founded in the year 2000. We started and grew as an electronic engineering services company and worked for many years as project partner for world market leading companies. Beside specification and development we also did customer product testing and verification. In 2008 we started with own product developments launching first of them to the markets in 2009. In 2011 we settled our registered Aivion product brand.

We are an experienced  and motivated team with high competence in audiovisual systems and technologies. For such applications  we specify, develop and market our own and customer specific products. Our focus is system level product  design, where we typically go for solutions based on leading microelectronic (semiconductor) technology combined with embedded software.

Our team members have long track records in the video, imaging and also semiconductor industries.

Most known customers we worked on projects with are Thomson Broadcast / Grass Valley, Fujitsu Multimedia Semiconductor and Sony. Our Aivion products are sold directly to many end customers, to our distribution partner or to system integrators.
